Dear Ardalan,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Healthcare Magic. I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Your results indicate that you are slightly anemic. The low values of MCV, MCHC and MCH show that your erithrocytes (red blood cells) are smaller in size, and the amount and concentration of hemoglobin in the erithrocytes is low. The above mentioned values, suported by slightly low Hgb and hct as in your case, are seen in conditions such as iron deficiency anemia and thalassemia.
In order to diffrentiate this two conditions I would like you to perform Serum iron, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), serum ferritin and hemoglobin electrophoresis.
However, my impression is that you have iron deficiency anemia. For such a condition I would prescribe to my patients iron supplements such as Ironorm capsules, which is a supplement of iron, vitamin B and minerals, a capsule every 8 hours. I would advice to you also to eat plenty of iron rich food, such as red meat, pork, poultry, seafood, beans, dark green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, dried fruit etc.

Hope I helped with my answer. For further concerns, or follow up questions, feel free to ask again.

Kind Regards,
Dr. Ina
